How to diagnose if there is a Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)?

What You Should Know:

Your kidneys are found at the center of your back, directly below the rib cage. Each one is roughly the size of a fist. Each kidney has tiny structures called nephrons that filter the blood. About a million of these exist. The kidneys are in charge of excreting wastes, toxins, and excess water from the body, as well as balancing vital salts and minerals in the blood and secreting hormones that assist control blood pressure, managing anemia, and maintaining healthy bones. Urine is formed when the kidneys eliminate waste and excess water. Urine travels through tubes known as ureters. It travels to your bladder, which reserves pee until you need to use the restroom.

When the kidneys are damaged, they can’t filter blood as they have to filter. One in three of the people with severe symptoms are at high risk for developing kidney disease today. Yet most cannot identify the signs and symptoms. And one in nine adults has kidney disease and most don’t know it. At first, kidney disease is silent. Symptoms often don’t appear until the kidneys are gets damage severely.

Ayurvedic treatment for chronic kidney disease helps to relieve the symptoms and the disease completely.as the disease progress to an advanced stage that can lead to CKD, it is of utmost importance to cure or end it at the early stage. Some people may have no symptom in the beginning or middle stage of kidney disease but if not treated it may lead to an advanced stage.

What is chronic kidney disease (CKD)?

CKD is a term for a variety of kidney-related disorders. It generally refers to chronic — and usually progressive — kidney damage caused by a variety of factors.

Causes:

Diabetes is the most usual cause of renal failure. Kidney failure is caused by high blood pressure, which is the second leading cause.

Kidney disease and heart disease are linked. You are at risk for the other if you have one. Age, particularly being above 60, is a risk factor for renal disease.

Anatomical/structural abnormalities or genetic disorders, such as polycystic kidney disease, are the most common causes of chronic kidney disease in children.

What are the Symptoms?

  • Urination changes – Your pee may be frothy; you may urinate frequently, and the volume you urinate may be higher or lower than usual. You may notice blood in your pee or have trouble urinating.
  • Swelling – Excess fluid is not eliminated from your body when your kidneys are not working properly. It can build up in the legs, ankles, feet, face, and/or hands, causing edema.
  • Fatigue – The kidneys produce erythropoietin, or EPO, a hormone that instructs your body to produce oxygen-carrying red blood cells. When your kidneys are damaged, they produce less EPO, resulting in fewer red blood cells available to transport oxygen. This disease is known as anemia.
  • Itching and rashes on the skin – When the kidneys are unable to eliminate waste from the body, it accumulates in the bloodstream, causing acute itching.
  • Ammonia Breath/Metallic Taste in Mouth – Uremia is a condition in which waste builds up in the blood. This can alter the flavor of meals and produce bad breath. It is fairly uncommon for people to stop like meat or to lose weight because they don’t want to eat.
  • Nausea and diarrhea – Uremia can also make you feel sick, causing nausea and vomiting.

Diagnosis: Screening for CKD is usually done using two tests.

  • GFR (glomerular filtration rate): a blood test that determines how well your kidneys filter.
  • Urine albumin: a protein that goes into the urine when the kidneys are injured is checked.
  • Serum creatinine – is a blood test that determines how well the kidneys filter waste from the bloodstream.

Treatment:

Herbal medicines to lower blood pressure, manage blood glucose, and lower blood cholesterol may be used as part of the treatment. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) can deteriorate over time. Kidney failure can occur as a result of CKD. Dialysis or a kidney transplant can be bypassed with the Ayurvedic treatment.

Ayurvedic treatment for chronic kidney disease aids in the complete relief of symptoms and disease. As the disease progresses to an advanced level, resulting in CKD, it is critical to cure or end it as soon as possible. Some persons with kidney disease may have no symptoms in the early or middle stages, but if they are not treated, they may progress to the severe stages.
